BJP burns CM’s effigy in Jamshedpur, calls for curb on crime against women

Jamshedpur: BJP today held a major protest against deteriorating law and order situation and increasing cases of crime against women in the state. In a demonstration held Tuesday evening BJP workers led by the mandal presidents of 28 mandals of Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP today burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Hemant Soren too.

The BJP workers shouted slogans against the Mahagathbandhan government led by Hemant Soren.

The BJP workers burnt effigies of Hemant Soren government at different places in the city and described the mahagathbandhan government of Hemant Soren as complete failure.

The president of Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP Gunjan Yadav said that the Hemant Soren government has failed in protecting women of the state. Crime against women has seen a big spurt in the city, while other criminal incidents too have gone up. This has sullied the image of Jharkhand at the national level, he said.

He said that BJP has been drawing the attention of the state government by submitting memos and holding candle march, effigy burning and demonstrations to make the government understand the gravity of the situation. He said that if the government does not take effective action to restore law and order,, then BJP would intensify the agitation and would take to streets to highlight the failure of the government.

Those who took part in the effigy burning included Mahanagar president Gunjan Yadav, Sudhanshu Ojha, Babua Singh, Sanjeev Sinha, Pradeep Mahato, Bari Murmu, Rakesh Singh and several other BJP supporters.
