Former CM Hemant Soren Appeals to Supreme Court Over Delayed High Court Verdict

Hemant Soren petitions Supreme Court alleging undue delay by High Court in his ongoing legal battle.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken his case to the Supreme Court, seeking prompt action on his arrest-related petition.

RANCHI – Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken his case to the Supreme Court, seeking prompt action on his arrest-related petition.

In his appeal, Soren claims that the High Court has yet to deliver a verdict on his petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to a land scam.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Soren, emphasized to the bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta that although the High Court reserved its decision on February 28, there has been no verdict to date.

Soren was arrested by the ED on January 31 and is currently held in judicial custody at Birsa Munda Jail in Ranchi.

This move to approach the Supreme Court underscores Soren’s efforts to expedite his legal proceedings and challenge the delays in the judicial process.
