Hockey Gumla clinches victory at the 2023 Naval Tata Hockey Jharkhand Sub-Junior & Junior State Hockey Championship. Sabiyan Kiro shines as Rising Star.
Jamshedpur: The 2023 Naval Tata Hockey Jharkhand Sub-Junior & Junior State Hockey Championship concluded with Hockey Gumla emerging as the winners, leaving Hockey Ranchi as runners-up.
The event was marked with excellent performances and a high level of competition among the participating teams.
The third-place match saw the Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) defeating Hockey Simdega with a score of 7-2. Jolen Topno from NTHA was particularly remarkable, scoring four of the seven goals for his team.
In the final match, Hockey Gumla outperformed Hockey Ranchi, securing a decisive 7-1 victory. Sabiyan Kiro from Hockey Gumla was the standout performer, scoring six goals single-handedly.
Sabiyan Kiro was recognized as the “Rising Star of the Tournament” for his stellar performance. Pardesh Munda from Hockey Ranchi was named “Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament,” while Ghuran Lohra from NTHA received the “Best Player of the Tournament” award.
The championship’s closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Rituraj Sinha, MD of TSUISL, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hockey Ace Foundation. He honored the individual performers and podium-finishing teams with medals and trophies.
Chief Guest Mr. Rituraj Sinha also honored Ms. Ashrita Lakra, an Ex-International Hockey player and Treasurer of Hockey Jharkhand.
