Police identifies killers of minor child, arrests 4

Jamshedpur: Sonari police have reportedly identified the killers of the minor girl, whose body was found on the banks of river in Sonari two days back.

Police sources say that the step-father of the deceased child is suspected to be the prime accused and he, along with 3 others, have been arrested in this case.

Deceased child’s mother told the police that she had met the prime accused Supriyo Ghosh via Facebook in 2017 and after a month’s courtship had married him.

She told the police that since then Supriyo was living with them. However, he was completely taken in by addiction. On Sunday, she had stopped him from substance abuse and he started fighting with her.

Next day, she said, the child went missing. She said that he did not like the child.

Meanwhile, the police have also arrested 3 other persons on the basis of mother’s statement.

Police sources say that the prime accused has also accepted his involvement in the crime.

The child was killed heinously after treating her brutally, the police said.

The dead body of the 5-year-old minor girl-child was found on the banks of the river. The child had been missing for the last 3 days.

Her body was found Wednesday morning on the banks of the river.

The most shocking was the fact that her hand was severed and her body was found without clothes.

She had gone missing and her family members had lodged a written complaint about this with Sonari police.

On Wednesday the body was located on the banks of river.

The Chief Minister Hemant Soren had expressed shock at the incident and had asked the DC to take prompt action in the matter.

The DC of East Singhbhum had responded by saying that the SSP has formed an SIT to nab the culprits and all possible help is being extended to the victim family. He also said that the case would be disposed off with speedy trial to ensure harshest punishment to the guilty.
