Co-Operative College Intermediate staff demand payment of dues

Teaching and non-teaching staff of Intermediate classes face hard times due to non-payment of compensation during Corona crisis

Jamshedpur: The teachers and employees of intermediate classes of Jamshedpur Co-Operative College are going through hard times owing to non-payment of their honorarium during Corona crisis.

On Friday, the teachers and non-teaching staff of Intermediate classes met the Principal in-charge Prof V K Singh and submitted a memorandum to him urging him to ensure that their dues are paid as soon as possible.

Later, the President of Intermediate Shikshak-Shikshaketar Karmachari Morcha Rajiv Dubey said that teachers selected by JAC should be paid Rs. 12 thousand per month, while class III and class IV staff be paid Rs. 8 and 6 thousand per month respectively.

He also said that the classes should be held only as per the holiday calendar issued by JAC.

He said that the teachers be given a maximum of three days and employees be given a maximum of one day’s service break.

On the other hand, student leader Akhil too supported their demands and said that the government should take cognisance of the matter and pay the teachers and employees suitably so that they can continue teaching students.

He said that if teachers and employees are not paid what is due to them, why would anyone work as teachers or non-teaching staff.
