High-profile interrogations in land scam and illegal mining case by Enforcement Directorate
The Enforcement Directorate’s Ranchi zonal office interrogated Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu and Sahibganj DC Ramniwas Yadav in a land scam and illegal mining case, releasing them late at night.
RANCHI – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been actively interrogating key figures, Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu and Sahibganj District Commissioner Ramniwas Yadav, over allegations of a land scam and illegal mining activities.
Both were subjected to extensive questioning for the second consecutive day, highlighting the ED’s intensified scrutiny of the case.
Sahu faced questions related to a BMW car linked to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, seized from Soren’s Delhi residence, with the ED also examining Sahu’s mobile for related chat evidence.
Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu underwent a five-hour interrogation session on Sunday, maintaining silence post-interrogation.
Sahibganj DC Ramniwas Yadav’s interrogation focused on illegal mining, leveraging digital evidence found during a January raid on his premises.
The ED’s investigation extends to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, with recent discoveries including maps from Soren’s associate Vinod Kumar Singh, prompting inquiries into the planned construction of a banquet hall.
Monday marks the end of Soren’s remand period, with expectations of the ED seeking an extension for further questioning.
