Lack of Security at MGM Hospital Under Scrutiny as Woman Loses Valuables, Home Guards Offer No Assistance

JAMSHEDPUR – In a disconcerting episode that lays bare the vulnerabilities in the security system, a woman’s purse was stolen at Kolhan’s only major Government Medical College Hospital, MGM Hospital.
The victim, identified as Lakshmi, a resident of Kadma, had admitted her daughter to the hospital.
She told authorities that she had left her purse near her daughter’s bed while she stepped away briefly.
Upon her return, she discovered that her purse was missing.
The stolen purse contained her Aadhaar card, a credit card, and five to six thousand rupees in cash.
Making matters worse, she said, the home guards on duty were unresponsive and shifted the blame onto her.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about the state of security at MGM Hospital, which has come under scrutiny in the past for similar issues.
