Forest department team and local residents of Serengatu village in Ramgarh come together to rescue a baby elephant stuck in a well; spotlight on frequent animal intrusions into crop fields.
RAMGARH – A baby elephant that fell into a well in Serengatu village, located in the Sadam Panchayat of the block area, was successfully rescued by the forest department on Saturday.
Villagers who initially spotted the distressed animal immediately alerted local forest officials about the situation.
The baby elephant is believed to frequently wander into the village fields at night in search of crops, making it prone to such accidents due to poor visibility.
Upon receiving the news, forest officials promptly arrived at the scene and called in a JCB machine to aid in the rescue operation.
Their efforts bore fruit as they were able to safely extricate the baby elephant from the well.
Local residents also contributed to the rescue mission, highlighting a community effort in mitigating animal-human conflicts.
