Workers of Contract Company Allege Deductions from Full and Final Settlement, Warn of Agitation
Tata Steel’s contract company employees led by union leaders express grievances about payment issues; stage protest at DLC office.
JAMSHEDPUR – Employees of Ajay Associate, a contractor company for Tata Steel, took to the streets today to protest against withheld payments and alleged unfair deductions.
Under the leadership of National Secretary of Youth Inter and General Secretary of Johar Jharkhand Labor Federation, Rajeev Pandey, about 26 disgruntled workers lodged their complaints at the District Labour Commissioner (DLC) office.
Workers accused the company of deducting between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 from their full and final settlements, based on the CLM portal.
They also claimed that the company has failed to pay notice payment, retrenchment compensation, and gratuity.
Their complaints were formally registered with the newly-appointed DLC, Rakesh Prasad.
In a stern warning, Rajeev Pandey stated that if the concerns are not addressed promptly, the workers would be forced to intensify their agitation.
Pandey added that in such a case, the contract company will have no choice but to answer for their actions.
