District Magistrate Inaugurates Swagatam Portal for Easy Access to Janata Darbar
District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri inaugurates Swagatam portal in the Collectorate for online appointments; set to bridge the gap between government and common citizens.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Swagatam portal was inaugurated in the Collectorate by the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri for the complainants coming to the Janata Darbar.
This portal will act as a platform to book online appointments for meeting with the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner.
Inaugurating the Swagatam portal, the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner said that this portal is an important step for the common citizens, designed with the aim of making it easier to take appointments.
He said that this portal would speed up the process of communication and eliminate the problem of waiting in long lines to meet the Deputy Commissioner.
From this portal, it will also be possible to review what kind of cases are coming from which block in the Janata Darbar, and the feedback process will also be strengthened.
Swagatam is an initiative by the Government of India to facilitate the common man.
It enables the citizens to have a smooth and simple process of making an appointment, bridging the gap between the Government and the common man, and enhancing the opportunity of a common man to meet a government officer, hassle-free.
This cloud-based application software, developed by NIC, has an easy-to-use graphical interface and is embedded with comprehensive security features.
It is a unified and centralized application that can be easily implemented in any Government offices, Ministries, or Bhawans with some configuration efforts.
The system assists in maintaining all relevant information about the visitor, automatically saved in a database.
Fixing an appointment using Swagatam is done by visiting the website Swagatam.gov.in, registering with a mobile number and email id, and following the provided instructions.
The portal also includes key features such as solutions for all Central, State, and Public sectors offices, cloud-based multi-tenant structure, scalability, SMS and email alerts for visitors, direct registration by Reception, and supportive query and reports for management.
