Jamshedpur Women’s University Faces Demonstration; AJSU Demands Increase in Seats
AJSU Chhatra Sangh protests in Women’s University, Jamshedpur, demanding increased enrollment in subjects; threatens lockout if demands not met.
JAMSHEDPUR – Under the leadership of Kolhan in-charge of All Jharkhand Chhatra Sangh (AJSU), a demonstration was held in the Women’s University today, August 21, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The girl students created a ruckus, prompting the intervention of the registrar to pacify the situation.
The matter revolves around the AJSU student union’s demand that no girl student should be deprived of enrollment in the university.
Despite the desire of hundreds of girl students to enroll in various subjects, many were not included in the list, and they have not been provided any information, citing that the seats are filled.
The teachers are also accused of not providing accurate information to the students.
Today’s uproar in the Women’s University was led by girl students demanding that enrollment be ensured in subjects such as History, Political Science, Economics, English, Hindi, and Geography.
Hemant Pathak, Kolhan in-charge, stated that the campus is well-equipped with infrastructure and has a prosperous educational environment.
The AJSU Chhatra Sangh is demanding that enrollment should be allowed in subjects where it has been stopped due to non-availability of seats.
The union has warned of further agitation if the enrollment of all students who have filled the form is not ensured.
Present during the protest were key members of the union, including State Secretary Deepak Pandey, Women V.V. in-charge Himadri Mahato, Shaheen Sultana, Jagdeep Singh, Kameshwar Prasad, Shreya Singh, Pooja Kumari, Simran Kumari, Abhishek Yadanam, Aman Singh, Nandini Kumari, Rekha Kumari, Shadab Parveen, Afshana Parveen, and dozens of girl students.
