Naxalites Slit Man’s Throat in West Singhbhum; Villages Panic as Vehicle Movement Halts
Maoists killed a man in Chakradharpur, West Singhbhum, accusing him of being a police informer; the incident has left local villages in panic.
JAMSHEDPUR – A middle-aged man was killed by Maoists in the Goilkera police station area of West Singhbhum.
The incident took place near the Naxal-affected Gitilpi village.
The victim, identified as Rando Surin, was accused of being a police informer and was killed by having his throat slit at Gitilpi Haat Chowk.
A poster from the CPI Maoist Naxalite organization was found near the body, accusing the deceased of collaboration with the police.
Surin, aged around 60, was a resident of Kadamdiha village and lived with his wife in a remote area at Lovabeda Vanagram.
The Naxalites abducted him from his home the previous night and executed him.
An atmosphere of panic has settled over the local villages following the incident.
Goilkera police and CRPF arrived at the scene, recovering the body and performing an autopsy before releasing it to relatives.
The road from Goilkera to Chaibasa was blocked for hours, causing a halt in vehicle movement as the body lay in the road.
