Jamshedpur Local Trailer Owner Union threatens agitation for fare increase; warns of jamming gates if vendors underbid in Tata Company tender on Saturday.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Local Trailer Owner Union has announced plans to agitate for an increase in trailer fares.
In a tender to be held at Tata company this Saturday, if any vendor underbids, the union threatens to obstruct the company’s movement by jamming the parking gate.
Union representatives expressed concern over the rising price of diesel, now at Rs 100, and the soaring costs of new vehicles.
Local trailer owners are still being forced to buy old vehicles at existing rates, they claimed.
Union President Jaikishore Singh identified some vendors, not from the state, who underbid in tenders, causing disadvantage to locals.
He accused these vendors of attempting to launder black money through this process.
The union will not tolerate this, he stated, and has submitted their demand letter to company management.
They have warned that if any vendor underbids below a reasonable rate, they will initiate vigorous agitation, placing full responsibility on the company’s vendors and management.
