Tata Steel’s Sonari Airport in Jamshedpur initiates a solar project to run the entire airport on solar energy, promoting sustainability.
JAMSHEDPUR – Taking a significant step toward a greener future, Tata Steel has invested in solar and non-conventional energy to boost its sustainability, leading the way in environmental responsibility.
Earlier, Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works made significant progress by commissioning four rooftop solar projects totaling 7.65 MWp and a groundbreaking floating solar power plant of 10.8 MWp.
Continuing this trend, the Sonari Airport in Jamshedpur has now opened a 2.0 MWp ground-mounted solar power project, a testament to Tata Steel’s commitment to clean energy.
In a landmark move, the whole airport will run on solar energy, setting an example for other airports and industries to follow.
This initiative is part of a wider arrangement with Tata Steel to construct 41MW of solar panels across multiple sites, reflecting the company’s comprehensive approach to renewable energy.
