AGM conduct by General Secretary Rambabu Singh leads to opposition, minor scuffle at Utkal Association Auditorium in Jamshedpur, police intervene.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Central Durga Puja Committee in Jamshedpur has found itself in the middle of controversy once again.
During the conduct of the AGM by the current General Secretary Rambabu Singh, the current President and Secretary fiercely opposed it calling it unconstitutional.
This opposition led to a scuffle at the Utkal Association Auditorium over the President and Secretary.
Rambabu Singh had faced opposition from other members of the committee two years ago, and his decision to conduct the AGM ignited the conflict again.
Opponents alleged that it was being conducted without prior notification. The present President of the Central Durga Puja Committee, KN Banerjee, and Secretary Arun Singh arrived at the Utkal Association Auditorium located in Sakchi.
They protested against the AGM, and a minor scuffle took place.
Police were summoned, and individuals from both sides were taken to the police station where the district police decided to conduct the AGM in the presence of the magistrate, resolving the issue.
