Major incident in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum leaves two soldiers martyred in a Maoist attack. Security forces continue their search operation in the Naxalite-affected area.
CHAIBASA – Maoists have carried out a major incident in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, in which two soldiers were martyred.
The Maoists carried out the incident on the eve of Independence Day, in the heavily naxal-affected Kolhan Reserve Forest area of the district’s Tonto police station area, where the Maoists attacked the Jharkhand Jaguar Force personnel.
Misir Besra’s Squad’s Attack
West Singhbhum’s DIG Ajay Linda and SP Ashutosh Shekhar have confirmed the incident.
The information is that that the squad of top CPI Maoist leader Misir Besra executed the incident.
According to sources, the security forces had an encounter with the Naxalites two days ago, in which the Naxalites suffered a lot.
A large amount of Naxalite goods including explosives were recovered by the jawans. Security forces are reportedly now closing on Misir Besra’s hideout.
Ambush on Soldiers
If sources are to be believed, the Naxalites suddenly attacked the jawans when they were preparing food.
Meanwhile, the ambushed Naxalites started firing indiscriminately, in which two soldiers were martyred.
Sources say that a new CRPF camp has been set up in Naxalite-affected Tumbaka.
Ongoing Search Operation
Regarding the incident, the SP of West Singhbhum district said that the top leaders of banned Naxalite organization CPI(M) Maoist were in Kolhan area.
A joint operation team is being formed and a continuous search operation is being conducted.
The SP says that during the campaign itself, on Monday, two soldiers were martyred.
Jharkhand Police have paid tribute to the martyred.
