Under the aegis of Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan, a public meeting for the implementation of the Sarna Dharma Code will be organized in Kolkata, reaffirming the distinct tribal identity.
JAMSHEDPUR – Adivasi Sengal Abhiyan is set to organize a public meeting to discuss the implementation of the Sarna Dharma Code at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata on the 30th of June.
Salkhan Murmu, the President of Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan, announced this during a talk on Saturday.
Murmu emphasized that the tribal identity is deeply connected with nature and distinct from any other religion or caste, and their identity is symbolized by the Sarna Dharma.
Hence, their continuous agitation for the enforcement of the Sarna Dharma Code.
Murmu mentioned that in the last 15 years, they have staged multiple protests for their cause, including a nationwide shutdown, and road and rail blockades in 50 locations across five states.
Now, they demand the enforcement of the Sarna Dharma Code before the upcoming elections and plan to voice their demands during the public meeting in Kolkata.
