Attempt to rob and shoot Santosh Prasad in Parsudih, Jamshedpur, causing a local scare and launching a police investigation.
JAMSHEDPUR – Santosh Prasad, a resident of Gadda Driver Colony under the Parsudih police station of Jamshedpur, had a close call when one T Upadhyay allegedly attempted to rob and shoot him.
According to Prasad, he was returning from work when he was confronted by Upadhyay in the middle of the road.
Brandishing a gun, Upadhyay attempted to instill fear in Prasad, he said.
Frightened, Prasad fled, leaving behind his cash, mobile phone, and car.
The commotion drew a crowd, prompting Upadhyay to abandon his bike at the scene.
Later, when Prasad approached Upadhyay’s home to report the incident, Upadhyay fired three shots – two in the air and one at Prasad.
Fortunately, Prasad escaped without injury.
The Parsudih police were informed of the incident and have launched an investigation.
At the scene, the police recovered live and spent cartridges.
Parsudih police station in-charge Ramkumar Verma confirmed that Tuktuk Upadhyay fired at Santosh Prasad, noting that there are multiple cases registered against Upadhyay.
