JAMSHEDPUR – On Friday, Birsa Munda’s Balidan Diwas was marked by heartfelt tributes from people across Jharkhand as well as Jamshedpur..
In Jamshedpur too, the statue of the legendary freedom fighter at Birsa Nagar’s Sunday Market became the epicenter of remembrance and respect.
The Birsa Sewadal Panchayat Samiti also honored Birsa Munda by garlanding his statue.
On this occasion, Dashrath Munda of the Birsa Sewadal Panchayat Samiti noted that Birsa Munda’s struggle against British colonial rule led to the implementation of the CNT Act, a key legislation in protecting the land rights of Jharkhand’s tribal communities.
Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy also graced the occasion, expressing admiration for Birsa Munda’s significant contributions.
He paid his respects by garlanding the statue of the hero of India.
