Thieves in Adityapur are growing audacious, sneaking into homes in broad daylight. Residents are urged to maintain vigilance even during daytime hours.
JAMSHEDPUR – Residents of Adityapur are facing a surge in audacious thefts, with criminals now operating even during daylight hours.
Traditionally, burglars would target locked homes under the cover of night.
Now, these thieves are taking advantage of the daytime, capitalizing on moments of carelessness to commit their crimes.
In the colonies of Adityapur, leaving homes unlocked during the day is becoming increasingly risky.
A recent incident occurred in Adityapur’s Shantinagar Society.
Krishna Chandra Modi’s young daughter fell victim to these daylight thieves when her bicycle was stolen right from their home at House No. 32.
The theft was captured on the CCTV cameras.
The footage, taken on June 8, shows a boy in the society area after 11 o’clock in the morning. He was seen lingering around a partially opened garage, seemingly waiting for the area to be devoid of people.
Once he ensured no one was around, he quickly entered the garage, took the bicycle, and sped off. The entire episode lasted just five minutes.
These calculated thefts point to an unsettling trend of thieves scouting locations and taking advantage of empty streets due to the scorching heat.
Consequently, many Adityapur residents said that now they need to exercise increased caution, keeping their homes locked even during daytime hours.
