The inauguration of the new Parliament House by PM Narendra Modi was met with protest from opposition parties, led by the Jharkhand Congress State.
RANCHI – In Jharkhand, Congress and other opposition parties of the country, expressed their disapproval towards the inauguration of the new Parliament House in the national capital New Delhi.
The ceremony, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sparked controversy among opposition ranks, resulting in protests organized by the Jharkhand Congress State at Birsa Munda Chowk in the capital, Ranchi.
State President Rajesh Thakur voiced his concerns, claiming that the Prime Minister’s aim was merely to boost his own image.
Thakur pointed out that President Draupati Murmu, a tribal woman who received recognition from the BJP, was not even extended an invitation to the inauguration of the Parliament building. He saw this as an affront to her role and position in the country.
The demonstration attracted a considerable number of Congress members, including the state Congress worker minister, Alamgir Alam.
