Jamshedpur’s Sitaramdera police register assault case after an altercation in court campus. Tension continues as unrest spills to local SSP office.
JAMSHEDPUR – An assault case has been registered by Sitaramdera police following an altercation that took place at a court campus in Jamshedpur.
The complaint was lodged by Alauddin Siddiqui, a resident of Sidhgora Bhalubasa Muslim Basti.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on Friday when Siddiqui reached the civil court at around 9:30 am, where he was allegedly surrounded and attacked by several individuals.
The complaint names accused who include Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Mukesh Singh, Ujjwal Singh, Abhilasha Singh, Nisha Kumar, all residents of different parts of the city, and an additional 5-10 unidentified people.
In his statement, Siddiqui claimed that an exchange of verbal abuses escalated into physical violence, leading to his injuries.
Following the incident, he filed a formal complaint at the Sitaramdera police station.
The aftermath of the incident saw tensions flare further when supporters from both sides engaged in a confrontation outside the SSP office.
Police intervened to defuse the situation, but efforts were largely futile as neither side showed signs of backing down.
A parallel case related to the same incident has also been registered at Bistupur police station.
The case involves a feud between two sisters and their families.
