President of India, Droupadi Murmu, addresses a Women’s Conference in Khunti, Jharkhand, emphasizing the importance of recognizing female talent and advocating for their rights.
RANCHI – The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, made a compelling speech Thursday at a Women’s Conference in Khunti, Jharkhand.
The conference was organized by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, focusing on the significance of women’s contributions in various fields.
In her address, President Murmu reassured the gathering that being a woman or a member of a tribal society should not be seen as a disadvantage. She highlighted the myriad of inspiring examples where women have made invaluable contributions, ranging from social reform and politics to economy, education, science, research, business, sports, and military forces.

Encouraging self-recognition and individual growth, she advised women not to judge themselves by others’ standards. The President stressed on awakening the ‘infinite power’ within, as the key to success in any field.
President Murmu underscored the importance of both the social and economic aspects of women empowerment.
She recognized the potential of the hardworking women of Jharkhand in contributing significantly to both the state and national economy, urging them to embrace their talents and advance with confidence.
Emphasizing on the crucial role women play in Jharkhand’s rural economy, she advocated for more inclusion of women in self-help groups and promoting skill development for employment generation.

She expressed confidence that the conference would raise awareness among women about their rights and various government schemes designed to support them.
She concluded her speech by applauding the tribal society’s exemplary practices, particularly the non-existence of the dowry system, a societal vice that many, even the educated, have struggled to eradicate.
