The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busted a clandestine lab in Nagar Kurnool District, Telangana, seizing 31.42 kg of Alprazolam and arresting one person.
New Delhi: In a major operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has successfully busted a clandestine makeshift laboratory in Nagar Kurnool District of Telangana.
The operation led to the seizure of 31.42 kg of Alprazolam, a psychotropic substance listed under the NDPS Act, 1985.
The approximate value of the confiscated drug in the illicit market stands at Rs. 3.14 crore. Furthermore, an individual engaged in the manufacture of Alprazolam was arrested.
Acting on specific intelligence, the DRI team targeted a remote poultry farm located on the outskirts of Vattem village, Bijinepally Mandal in Nagar Kurnool District. Hidden amidst agricultural fields, this location housed a makeshift laboratory used for the production of Alprazolam.
The successful strike resulted in the confiscation of Alprazolam as a finished product, in-process material, as well as machinery and other equipment used in the manufacturing process.
The DRI is conducting further investigations into this significant drug bust.
