Bhojpuri icon, Khesari Lal, calls for film industry development and government support in Jamshedpur, providing opportunities for local artists.
JAMSHEDPUR – Bhojpuri superstar and “Thik Hai?” sensation, Khesari Lal, is on a visit to Jamshedpur for the shooting and launching of a new song, produced by city’s rising director, Badrinath.
The visit is a part of an initiative to promote Jamshedpur as a hub for Bhojpuri film and music production, presenting opportunities for the city’s young talent.
A spate of Bhojpuri albums and films are being produced in Jamshedpur, opening the door for aspiring artists from the city to showcase their talent.

Director Badrinath is instrumental in creating these opportunities, keenly offering platforms for the region’s emerging artists.
While interacting with the media, Khesari Lal emphasized that artists often travel overseas to shoot films and music videos, overlooking the inherent beauty and potential of our own country. He lauded Jamshedpur, nestled in the heart of Jharkhand, for its picturesque locales perfect for filming.
Khesari also urged the Jharkhand government to emulate other states in offering film subsidies and building a dedicated film city.
This move, he believes, would help the youth of Jharkhand gain exposure and foster collaboration in producing content in local languages, alongside Bhojpuri.
