Jamshedpur – In remembrance of the martyrdom of Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj, the fifth Guru of the Sikhs, Chabeel camps were established in all corners of Jamshedpur city.
These camps served gram and sharbat to everyone passing by.
Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj was a stalwart figure who endured extreme torment from the Mughals for 40 days to defend his nation and faith.
His defiance against servitude led to his martyrdom.
To honor his sacrifice, Chabeel—an act of offering a cooling drink—is practiced continuously for 40 days at various locations.
Today, on the anniversary of his martyrdom, special kirtan durbars were organized at all the city’s Gurudwaras.
In a spirit of community service, Chabeel was implemented, and gram and sharbat were distributed amongst the passersby.
This gesture was a tribute to the Guru’s ideals of kindness, humility, and selflessness, thereby reminding us all of our shared duty towards humanity.
