Mining mafias in East Singhbhum District (Jamshedpur) are facing intensive investigations against illegal mineral trade, resulting in the seizure of about 35 Hyvas of sand from an unauthorized storage.
JAMSHEDPUR – In an unexpected crackdown on illegal mineral trade in East Singhbhum district, approximately 35 Hyvas of sand stored unlawfully were seized late last night in the forest block of Gurabandha.
The operation, driven by intelligence, has disrupted activities of the mining mafias in the area.
The raid was conducted by a team including BDO Gurabandha Smita Nagesia, Executive Magistrate Keshav Kumar, and local police officers, acting upon information received by Jamshedpur DC and Rural SP.
The seized sand has been taken into custody, and an FIR has been ordered by the DC.
Local leaders, including Mukhiya, Ward member and Pradhan will be summoned for an investigation on the spot.
The crackdown follows orders from the DC and SSP for rigorous action against illegal mineral businesses during a review meeting of the Mining Task Force and district-level law and order. This intensified campaign is now bringing in results and curbing the illegal sand mining activities in different areas of the district.
