The Jharkhand High Court has revoked the map approval ban on the Ranchi Municipal Corporation and RRDA, bringing relief to Ranchi residents.
RANCHI – The Jharkhand High Court has lifted the ban on the Ranchi Municipal Corporation and the Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) approving maps, a decision that brings significant relief to the people of Ranchi and its surrounding areas.
The decision came during a hearing on Thursday concerning a suo moto Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in connection with illegal recoveries for map approvals.

The division bench, consisting of Justices S. Chandrasekhar and Ratnakar Bhengra, deemed the lift of the ban appropriate following the hearing.
Previously, there were allegations of a 30 percent bribe taken in exchange for building map approvals, as reported by various media outlets.
This news had resulted in the High Court taking suo moto cognizance and imposing a ban on the involved bodies passing maps.
This recent ruling by the High Court will expedite building developments in the region, making it easier for individuals and companies to get their construction plans approved.
