Villagers of Manpita village near Jamshedpur object to the proposed construction of a Motor Driving Training Center on community land by Jharkhand Government.
Jamshedpur: The proposed construction of a Motor Driving Training Center by the Transport Department, Government of Jharkhand, in Manpita village has sparked protest among local villagers.
The center, which is planned to be built on Khata No. 173 and Plot No. 388, 49, and 395, allegedly infringes on community land, leading to tension between the villagers and the administration.
Following the posting of a construction notice by the circle office, zonal office employees were spotted conducting measurements on the community land, which is also the location of the village’s Jaher Than and Gochar Bhoomi (pasture land).
Villagers claim they were threatened when they questioned the purpose of these measurements, fueling their frustration with the administration.
Villagers made their displeasure known by visiting the Karandih circle office in large numbers to register their protest and express their concerns.
Slogans were raisedd against the zonal personnel involved in the land measurements.
Krishna Lohar, leading the protest, emphasized the importance of preserving the community’s worship and pasture land.
He warned that if the administration attempts to forcibly acquire the land, the villagers of Manpita will be compelled to intensify their agitation.
