Their bond, filled with love, drama, and heartbreak, is etched in the annals of Bollywood history.

Kishore Kumar and Madhubala first met during the shooting of the film “Dhake Ki Malmal” in 1956. Their initial interactions blossomed into a deep love, leading to their marriage in 1960.

Despite the opposition from their families and Madhubala’s critical health condition, the couple decided to tie the knot.

Madhubala was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect, a condition known as a “hole in the heart”, and was advised against working in films or starting a family.

Despite the odds, Kishore Kumar stood by her throughout her illness. However, their marriage was fraught with complications, with Madhubala’s deteriorating health causing significant strain.

Unfortunately, the couple did not have children, and after nine years of marriage, Madhubala passed away in 1969 at the age of 36.
