Tata Steel ASI Dhananjay, a resident of Kadma Farm, was shot by unidentified assailants during a confrontation in Sakchi, Jamshedpur.
Jamshedpur: A shocking incident unfolded late Thursday night when B Dhananjay, an ASI working in Tata Steel, was shot at Court Road under Sakchi police station jurisdiction.
Dhananjay, who is a resident of Kadma Farm area, managed to reach Tata Main Hospital (TMH) despite a bullet lodged in his left waist.
The incident occurred when Dhananjay, who was off-duty, left his colleague Pankaj Dubey’s house around 9:30 PM.
According to Dhananjay, three youths on a bike were driving rashly, which led to an argument between them.
The altercation escalated quickly, leading to the youths opening fire at Dhananjay before fleeing the scene.
Despite his injuries, Dhananjay managed to call Pankaj Dubey and inform him of the situation. Pankaj then helped him reach TMH for treatment.
Upon hearing the news, relatives quickly arrived at the hospital to inquire about Dhananjay’s condition.
City ASP Sumit Agarwal, along with station in-charges Anjani Kumar and Deepak, promptly reached TMH to gather information about the incident. The police are now investigating the case, aiming to identify and apprehend the assailants.
