In a daylight robbery near Diggi Lota village, armed criminals looted a gold and silver trader, making away with more than Rs 6 lakh, including gold, silver, and cash.
Chakradharpur – A gold and silver trader was robbed in broad daylight by armed assailants near Diggi Lota village on the Sonua-Chakradharpur main road.
The robbers made off with jewelry, cash, and a mobile phone, with the total loot exceeding Rs 6 lakh.
The victim, Shrimukho Sahu, a resident of Chakradharpur Purani Basti, alleges that four robbers looted him at gunpoint, taking jewelry worth more than Rs 6 lakh and Rs 25,000 in cash.
Sahu, who has been selling jewelry by traveling from village to village for almost 35 years, was returning from the Sonua Bazaar when the incident took place.

According to Sahu, four individuals on three bikes followed him from Diggi Lota. One of the criminals overtook him and intentionally crashed into his motorcycle, causing him to fall and sustain serious injuries to his leg and hand.
Amid the chaos, one of the robbers held a dagger to Sahu’s head while another snatched the keys to his vehicle.
They then demanded Sahu’s bags, threatening him when he hesitated. Eventually, they seized the bags and fled the scene on their bikes.
The looted bag contained 30 grams of gold, 6 kg of silver, and Rs 25,000 in cash.
A case has been registered at the Sonua police station, and an investigation is currently underway. It is worth noting that this is not the first robbery incident in the Sonua police station area, with similar incidents reported in April.
