Criminal activities escalate in Jamshedpur; 2 firing incidents on same day create concern
Jamshedpur: Criminal activity is on the rise in Jamshedpur, with criminals carrying out shootings in public spaces with wantonness. That too at a time when there is a strict vigil in the city keeping in view of the upcoming Ram Navami festival.
Just hours after a narrow escape of a witness at the Jamshedpur Civil Court, criminals fired at least three to four rounds at Golmuri Chowk, instilling fear among residents.
The city is witnessing a steady increase in criminal incidents, with shootings becoming a common occurrence.
Earlier, in the day, a potentially deadly incident was narrowly averted on Monday afternoon at the Jamshedpur Civil Court when bike-riding criminals targeted Navin Kumar, a witness in the Manpreet Pal murder case. The assailants fired two shots near Gate No. 3 as Navin was leaving the court, but he managed to escape unharmed. The shooting created chaos in the court premises.
Soon after, in the Golmuri area incident, police have recovered three cartridges and are investigating the criminals’ intentions behind the shooting.
The authorities are examining CCTV footage to determine the motives behind the attack.
The Officer-in-charge of Golmuri police station reported that five criminals arrived at Golmuri Chowk on two motorcycles and fled the scene after firing three to four rounds.
The recent spike in criminal activity is causing concern among Jamshedpur residents, who are demanding more effective policing and enhanced security measures.
Authorities are under pressure to curb the rise in crime and ensure the safety of the local community.
