Jamshedpur: The UP police have arrested a businessman Simarpal Singh from Bistupur in connection with a case of criminal breach of trust registered by Kohna police station of Kanpur, UP.
The FIR relating to the case was lodged by one Gurdeep Singh of Kanpur.
The Bistupur police helped the Uttar Pradesh police carry out a raid in which they arrested the accused of the case, Simarpal Singh, who is son of a licensed arms trader Kamaljit Singh.
According to police, Gurdeep Singh has accused Simarpal Singh of defrauding in a First Information Report (FIR) that was lodged with the Kohna police station in Kanpur.
Kamaljit Singh, a trader in licensed weapons, is the father of Simarpal.
One Gurdeep Singh had filed a case for breach of trust against Kamaljit and Simarpal.
In connection with this lawsuit, the court has issued an order for seizure of their Kanpur-based property.
According to the police, accused Simarpal was evading capture, therefore on March 3, 2023, the court issued an arrest warrant against him.
As the Uttar Pradesh police came to the city, Simarpal was taken into custody.
He will be transferred to MGM Hospital for a medical examination before being produced before the court and placed on transit remand.
In exchange for paying Rs. 9.5 lakh, Kamaljit Singh and Simarpal Singh allegedly offered to provide Gurdeep license to operate a gun shop in his son’s name, according to the FIR that the latter has lodged.
According to the FIR, Gurdeep sought his money back when the license did not materialize, but Kamaljit Singh refused to do so.
Gurdeep therefore sued Kamaljit Singh and his son Simarjit Singh for criminal breach of trust on January 23, 2010.
