Devotees and Vratees accept Kharna Mahaprasad on 2nd day of Chaiti Chhath

Jamshedpur: A large number of men and women are observing Chaiti Chhath this year too. Sunday was the second day of this festival, i.e. Kharna. The vratees offer puja and take prasad today before starting their 36-hour nirjala upwas (complete fasting).

The Chaiti Chhath festival is an important festival of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh and is believed to be one of the toughest festival to observe involving a 36-hour Nirjala Vrat of Chaiti Chhath begins today as part of the celebrations.

On Kharna today, Chhath Vratis are offering and accepting Kharna’s Prasad at their houses.

To accept the Maha Prasad of Kharna, many people are visiting the houses of Chhath Vratis. While performing Chhath Puja songs, Chaiti Chhath Vratis are now receiving the Mahaprasad of Kharna. All Chhath Vratis will congregate at the river ghat tomorrow with their families to give the first arghya to Bhagwan Surya.

The four-day Chaiti Chhath will come to an end when Chhath Vratis offer arghya to the rising sun on the morning of the second day.

A sizable crowd has gathered for the Chaiti Chhath festival this year, all of whom are doing so in order to worship and bow before the might of Bhagwan Surya, the Sun God.
