TB is a serious illness, but completely curable: Dr. M Dhavadia
Jamshedpur: On the occasion of World TB Day, a rally was taken out from Jamshedpur TB Hospital to generate awareness for a TB-free India.
The Innerwheel Club and students from other local schools took part in the rally, which traversed through various parts of the city before coming back to the TB Hospital and concluding there.
The District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Mrityunjay Dhavadia, underlined that while TB is a serious illness, patients can be entirely healed if treatment is begun on time.
He urged anyone exhibiting symptoms, like a cough lasting more than two weeks, weight loss, or loss of appetite etc, to go right away for a sputum check at the closest medical facility.
He also mentioned that the government offers free TB treatment.
Several events have been planned in recognition of World TB Eradication Day, including a training for physicians, a school quiz contest, and the honoring of volunteers involved in TB eradication.
Dr. Dhavadia complimented the efforts of the Innerwheel Club and underlined the necessity of united efforts to make the TB-free India campaign effective.
