Jamshedpur police crack loot cases, arrest 9

Jamshedpur: In a major success, Jamshedpur Rural police have arrested nine criminals including the notorious robber Rahim Khan alias Badku and sent them all to judicial custody.

According to the police, these accused were involved in several loot incidents in the district’s Kowali, Ghatshila, Potka, Azad Nagar and Gudabandha areas as well as in Jhargram, Jaduguda, Odisha and other places.

Police seized a pistol, two country-made kattas, 26 live cartridges, knife, gold necklace, gold locket, gold ring, gold ear-tops, earrings, looted bracelet, black bag, 2 lakh 15 thousand in cash, one motorcycle and 11 mobile sets from their possession.

Rahim Khan alias Badku, Sheikh Asif alias Sona, Chandu Mukhi, Govind Kalindi alias Gogo, Abhishek Dey alias Mithun, Dipankar Sen alias Shera, Raja Namta, Arun Namta and Manish Prasad are among the accused who were nabbed by the police.

Describing it as a big success, Jamshedpur SSP Prabhat Kumar said that all these people used to carry out loot incidents in different areas.

The police were looking for Rahim Khan and his gang for a long time.

He said that a dacoity incident was carried out by this gang in Musabani on March 14.

After that a team was formed under the leadership of the Rural SP.

The team raided on the basis of technical evidence and arrested 9 people.

With these arrests the several loot and dacoity cases have now been solved.

He said that more than a dozen cases have been pending against Rahim Khan and so far a total of 16 members of this gang have been sent to jail.
