Nav Varsh Yatra slated to be held a day before Hindu Nav Varsh on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada
Jamshedpur: A Dhwaj Pujan programme for the Nav Varsh Yatra was organized at MGM Grounds at Dimna. The Nav Varsh Yatra is slated to be held a day before the Hindu new year.
Shukla paksha pradipada of Chaitra month is celebrated as Hindu new year. The new year falls on March 22 and therefore the Yatra is to be taken out on March 21.
This year Chaitra Shukladi or Hindu new year falls on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Therefore, the Nav Varsh Yatra would be celebrated a day before on March 21. The Yatra is taken from Dimna and goes up to Subhash Maidan.
Dhwaj Pujan ritual for the Nav Varsh Yatra was carried out at MGM Ground in Dimna on March 11, 2023, as is usual every year to commemorate the new year.

The Hanuman Chalisa and Vedic mantras were chanted on the occasion and puja-archana was carried out to worship sacred Bhagwa Dhwaj (saffron flag)..
All participants of the Hindu New Year Yatra will start making preparations and would decorate the city.
The Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra committee carries out a yatra of around 10 kilometers while carrying the saffron flag.
The saffron flag is a sacred emblem of Hindu culture and religion, according to Mrityunjay Kumar, the founder of the Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra. He said that It is customary to worship the historical and cultural flag of India a few days before the Hindu New Year.

Ram Babu Tiwari, the president of the Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra, urged the city’s citizens to take part in the Shobha Yatra in big numbers and encouraged the young ones to prepare for the Hindu New Year Yatra in a big way.
The BJP Mahanagar President Gunjan Yadav, meanwhile, thanked everyone and encouraged the young participants to take part in the yatra in huge numbers.
Those who took part in the Dhwaj Pujan included Dashrath Choubey, Umesh Sharma, Sunil Yadav, Deepnarayan Mishra, Vipin Tiwari, Ram Awadhesh Choubey, Sarabjit Tiwari, Shambhu Trivedi, Rajiv Singh, Ravindra Singh, Rahul Hindu, Deepak Bhadani, Akash Mahato, Jittu Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Sanatani Amit, Jatashankar ji, Manoj Sharma, Amarender Paswan, Umesh Saav, Vinod Rai, Chhotan Mishra, Deepak Gupta, Mithu Chowdhary, Suman Jha, Sanju Singh, Vikas Singh, Guddu Singh, Deepak Jha, Shashi Singh, Ritesh Jha, Ravi Jambudweep, Prakash Mishra, Rakesh Rajak, Chintu ji, Raju Jha, Dev, Ayush, Prince Mishra, Ajit Thakur, Dilip Paswan, Neeraj, Rahul and many others.
