Despite downturn in world’s major economies, India’s economy remains strong: Noel Tata
Jamshedpur: The Tata Group is commemorating the 184th birthday of its founder, Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata, with a number of activities scheduled at different sites around in the city.
The main event took place on the company premises on Friday, where Noel Tata, the Tata Group’s Vice Chairman, paid tribute to the founder along with other officials of the group and Tata Steel.
During the occasion, all departments of Tata Steel took part in a colourful and appealing procession of tableaux depicting Tata’s past, present, and future.
To pay their respects to the founder, union representatives and Tata Steel officials attended the tribute meeting.
While addressing the citizens Noel Tata said that Jamshedpur holds an unique place in their hearts.
He recalled his childhood and Christmas and New Year’s celebrations in Jamshedpur with his parents.
He said that the city is well suited for industries, and that the Tata Group is breaking records with the help of the people and the national and state governments.
He said that notwithstanding the worldwide downturn in economies, India’s economy has remained robust, in contrast to the economies of other emerging nations such as Russia, Ukraine, and the United States.
On the founder’s day, he sent his greetings to the citizens of Jamshedpur.
