Tata Steel inaugurates Bari Maidan Clubhouse at Gandak Road

Jamshedpur, February 16, 2023: Bari Maidan Clubhouse was inaugurated at Gandak Road today by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel and Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers Union (TWU) in presence of Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President Human Resource Management, Tata Steel and Rituraj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel Utility and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL).

The Clubhouse at Gandak Road has been constructed to accomplish the long standing demand of TWU, for bigger and improved facilities. It is built over an area of 6830 square feet on a plot of 4650 square metre (around 1.30 acres). The main Hall is air-conditioned and has a capacity of 300 people. An open ground of about 3000 sqm is also provided which can accommodate a gathering of about 2000 people.

Other facilities like rooms with attached washrooms for Bride and Groom, one office room, common washrooms for all, pantry and outdoor kitchen shed, flag post, and external lighting have been provided for smooth conduct of functions. Space for about 100 four- wheeler parking has been created in and outside the Club house.

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel appreciated the hard work put in by the team in completing the job in scheduled time. He also said that the facilities provided at the clubhouse will offer more comfort to people and employees.

Adding to it Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President, HRM, Tata Steel said that the Bari Maidan Clubhouse should be maintained and used properly in time to come so that more and more people and employees can take benefit from it.

The building has been designed and constructed by TSUISL. Tata Steel products such as PRAVESH doors and windows, and Bluescope roof sheeting have been extensively used in the building. The design was prepared in December 2021 in consultation with TWU President and committee members and it took around only 10 months to construct the building.

Present on the occasion were Captain Dhananjay Mishra, Senior General Manager (Jharkhand Business) TSUISL, Pranay Sinha, Chief Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Shahnawaz Alam, Vice President, TWU, Shailesh Kumar Singh, Deputy President, TWU and Satish Kumar Singh, General Secretary, TWU along with other senior officials from Tata Steel, TSUISL and office bearers from TWU.
