Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy is extremely unhappy with the ongoing attacks on Bharatiya Jan Morcha supporters and the police’s handling of the situation.
He held a press conference Wednesday and said that the residents of the Jamshedpur East had voted for him for ensuring a safe environment, but his opponents are now attacking and targeting his supporters.
He cited a specific incident that occurred during the Chhath festival at the Surya Mandir at Sidhgora, where many people were injured when his supporters were attacked with sticks and chairs.
He also mentioned another recent case in which enterpreneur Sangam Agrawal was allegedly assaulted. He said that the entire incident was captured in CCTV too.
Despite the fact that police reports have been filed, he said, the police are not taking appropriate action and are instead attempting to cover up the cases or are trying to reconcile both parties.
He also stated that he had sent several written complaints to the Chief Minister, the DGP, and the local SP, but that no action had been taken against the opponents.
He warned that if no action is taken, he will protest in front of the DGP’s office.
