Bagged two awards for Value Study of Sludge Briquette Plant for Ferro Alloy Plant at Joda and design optimisation of Hopper building with conveyor at bottom-bin at Noamundi
Jamshedpur: Tata Steel’s Engineering & Projects division has bagged two prestigious Value Engineering awards of Indian Value Engineering Society (INVEST) at the 38th Annual International Conference held on 6th and 7th January 2023 in Mumbai.
The company won Muthiah Kasi Award for Value Study of Sludge Briquette Plant for Ferro Alloy Plant at Joda in Odisha and KSRM Sastry Award for Value Study for design optimisation of Hopper building with conveyor at bottom-bin, MHS- RLS at Noamundi in Jharkhand.
The Muthiah Kasi award was given for exemplary application of Customer Oriented Function Analysis System Technique (FAST) Diagram and demonstrating how Functions and particularly FAST diagram has helped to solve problems and/or led to creative solutions/innovation. The winning team comprised Surya Prakash Prabhaker (Facilitator), Kundan Kumar (Leader & Co-author), Ankur Samadhiya (Author), Y Rajshekar (Member), Shailesh Kumar (Member), Chandra Bhanu Das (Member), Veerendra Kumar K (Member), Shashi Bhushan Kumar (Member), Rakesh Ghosh (Member), Aruni Kumar Singh (Member), Engineering & Projects.
KSRM Sastry Award was given for effective utilisation of ‘Function and Creativity’ to derive the best possible solutions. The winning team comprised Surya Prakash Prabhaker (Facilitator), Saumen Porel (Leader), Kundan Kumar (Author), Anindya Sundar Brahma (Member and Co-Author), Shailesh Kumar (Member), Manish Kumar Pandey (Member), Subimal Karmakar (Member), Subhrajit Sen (Member), Dayanand Pathak (Member), Engineering & Projects.
The above projects were mentored by Manish Kumar Pandey, Chief Design & Engineering BMHS & Cranes, K Shankar Marar, Chief Planning & Budgeting, Chief Projects Capital Planning and Ashis Kumar Das, Head (Improvement).
