Jamshedpur: Unknown thieves broke into a locked house in Mango and decamped with valuables and ornaments worth about 8 lakhs and Rs. 50 thousand in cash.
Rs. 50 thousand in cash was also stolen by the thieves from the house of Sarwar Alam, resident of Gulab Bagh Phase to Cross Road No. 1, under the jurisdiction of Mango police station of Jamshedpur.
According to information received, the owner of the house works abroad and had come to India on leave.
In the morning of December 22, the family went for a short trip to Kolkata and on the night of December 29, when they returned home by Steel Express, they found the door outside was locked. On going inside, the belongings were all scattered.
The thieves had entered the house by breaking the three rear doors.
It didn’t take long for them to understand that the thieves had decamped with valuables. They found that the thieves had managed to check almost all the cupboards in the house and they had stolen jewelery worth 8 lakhs.
Immediately they informed the police. The police reached Sarwar Alam’s house and have launched an investigation. At present, the police are probing the matter.
