Militants have captured a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) center in Bannu, Pakistan. After learning of this news, the United States offered unconditional assistance to Pakistan in the fight against the militant organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and similar groups.
Earlier, agencies reported that Pakistani army commandos on Tuesday stormed a counter-terrorism centre and killed militant detainees who had seized control of the facility, as well as rescuing their hostages, after talks failed to resolve a two-day standoff.
The United States has said that defeating terrorism is the goal of both countries.
