Jamshedpur: Once more waging a stern campaign against rule breakers, the Jamshedpur Traffic Police Department is now sending challans to the offenders via the CCTV cameras set up all over the city.
The district administration has placed numerous CCTV cameras at major intersections, roads, and public spaces throughout the city.
The traffic department is now using these cameras to monitor drivers who are not wearing seat belts or helmets.
In this regard, the traffic in-charge, Dy SP Kamal Kishore, stated that the department has begun sending challans by using cameras to identify lawbreakers.
Very soon, these devices will be installed in the city to check not only the helmet and seat belt but also the speed of the vehicles and to send the challan to the owner of the vehicle online. This will make the department’ work easier and will also control rash driving.
