Major achievement for city police, 1 katta, 1 pistol, 1 bike recovered
Jamshedpur: Dhalbhumgarh police team achieved a major success by arresting 5 accused of the case relating to firing at a Ranchi businessman Shekhar Mahato’s vehicle near Maudasoli at NH-18 under the jurisdiction of Dhalbhumgarh police station.
The incident had occurred on September 26 when the criminals had fired at a vehicle belonging to Shekhar Mahato, a businessman from Ranchi.
An associate of Shekhar Mahato and his driver were injured in the firing incident.
A team was formed under the leadership of Rural SP and Ghatshila SDPO after registering a case at Dhalbhumgarh police station soon after this incident.
After this, the team took action and arrested 5 criminals involved in this case from Ranchi.
Giving details of the development in the case in a press conference at Jamshedpur, the SSP Prabhat Kumar said that there was an ongoing land dispute between one Saddam and Shekhar Mahato, both from Ranchi.
After this, a criminal named Aditya Singh alias Bittu Singh was allegedly given a contract y Saddam to kill Shekhar Mahto.
After this, 5 people carried out the attempt to kill Shekhar Mahato and fired at his vehicle.
However, the target Shekhar Mahto narrowly escaped in this firing incident.
The police have also recovered one country-made pistol, 5 mobile phones, two pistols and the bike used in the incident from the possession of the five accused.
For now, the police have sent the five to judicial custody.
The SSP said that if needed they will also be taken on remand.
