Teli Samaj members up in arms against detention of woman
Jamshedpur, Aug 23: Sidhgora police have come under scanner for allegedly flouting basic legal norms pertaining to arrests.
A delegation of Rashtriya Teli Sahu Samaj, Jharkhand unit, has alleged that Sidhgora police have detained one Rita Devi of Bhuiyandih Nand Nagar Kanu Bhatta on charges of theft for the last three days.
The cops have allegedly compelled the accused woman to sit at the police station without justification, said the outfit members.

The outfit members said the accused woman had purchased stolen goods from someone by mistake and was also rebuked by her husband for her act.
Now the police have kept the woman at the police station without any strong legal basis or justification.
Police have failed to make any headway in connection with the theft so far, said the outfit members.
The outfit members met Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), East Singhbhum, Prabhat Kumar, in this connection and demanded stringent action against the errant cops. They said if reasonable doubt is found against the woman, they would hand her over to police.
