Special Drive against snatchers to continue: SSP
Jamshedpur: The city police achieved a big success in busting a snatching gang activel in the city. They have arrested nine members of the alleged snatching gang.
The East Singhbhum SSP Prabhat Kumar said that soon after his taking over the reins here, it was announced that a special drive would be launched against chain snatching and drug addiction.
Accordingly, he added, a special team was formed and raids were made regularly to curb the snatching and drug-pusher gangs.
He revealed that on August 9 a case of snatching was registered by the Sitaramdera police. Showing readiness in the case, the city police managed to bust an entire gang active in snatching incidents around the city as well as in the adjoining areas like Adityapur.
A total of 9 members of that gang have been arrested from different parts of the city, he said.
The SSP said that those who have been arrested include Sumit Singh, Saurav Singh, Mohit Burman, Aditya Singh, Shubham Kumar, Rahul Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Saurav Yadav and Harshit Raj Singh.
He said that all of them have been arrested from different police station areas of the city.
Three chains and three motorcycles as well as five mobile phones have also been recovered by the police.
