Armed criminals decamp with cash after daylight bank dacoity
Jamshedpur: A group of four to five armed masqueraded criminals looted cash from the Dimna Road branch of Bank of India under Olidih police station area on Thursday, sources said.
Before leaving, the criminals fired several rounds in the air to terrorize the bank staff and customers.
It could not be immediately known as to how much cash was looted. Sources claimed the booty could be to the tune of several lakhs.

The broad daylight bank dacoity sent the city police scampering for action. Police force from four different police stations rushed to the bank after getting intimation from its staff.
Sources said the criminals first entered the bank posing as CID sleuths and collected the mobile phones of all bank staff and customers present inside.
Thereafter, the culprits entered into the cash counter and threatened the bank staff to open the vault and safe. After looting the cash, the criminals threatened the bank staff and customers against raising an alarm, sources said.
Police officials appeared to be skirting media queries about the incident. All they said was that a probe was on and that searches were being made for the culprits.
The SSP Prabhat Kumar, however, said that it is estimated that about 30-35 lakh rupees may have been looted by the criminals. Exact amount would be ascertained by the bank officials soon, he said.
