Action would be taken against absentee doctors if proper explanation is not submitted: DC
Jamshedpur: The Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum district Vijaya Jadhav carried out a surprise inspection of Sadar Hospital located at Khas Mahal, Tatanagar and issued instructions to improve the condition of the hospital.
During the inspection, the DC took stock of the arrangements of the hospital in a subtle way. She also discussed the problem of ultrasound and missing doctors and spoke of action against those doctors who were found absent during duty hours.
She went around the hospital from OPD to the Emergency, women’s ward, men’s ward as well as the labor room in Sadar Hospital.

She expressed her displeasure over the closure of the ultrasound facility due to the poor arrangement of wiring.
She also tried to know the reason for the absence of several doctors during the inspection and also issued directions to the Civil Surgeon Sahir Paul to improve the condition of the hospital.
Later, speaking to the media, the DC Vijaya Jadhav said that the wiring of Sadar Hospital is quite old and this has been causing problems in the operation of machinery as well as the ultrasound and X-ray machines.
She said that funds are available for wiring and work would be started soon on it.
On the shortage of doctors, she said that there is no shortage of funds in the Ayushman Scheme.
Efforts are being made to meet the shortage of doctors through Ayushman.
While talking about removing the shortage of medicines at the earliest, she said that there are many challenges in the field of health in the district.
Accepting these challenges the administration is trying to remove all loopholes in the health facilities in the district.
She also said that action would be taken against absentee doctors, if proper reason is not shown for their absence.
